One of the most-awaited films of this year, Zero, hits the screens today. The Aanand L Rai directorial celebrates embracing one’s incompleteness, making it a must watch for families this Christmas.
While the teasers, trailer and songs have already made moviegoers fall in love with the adorable yet mischievous Bauua Singh essayed by Shah Rukh Khan, the film unveils his character’s various aspects. Viewers will be in for a surprise as the leading ladies, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, will be seen in roles they have never portrayed before.
Talking about the movie, which not only has a unique plotline but also a heavy dose of VFX, Aanand says, “It’s a difficult story, more than the technique. If anyone says, ‘Kyun difficult hoga’, unke dimaag mein technical hota hai, mere dimaag mein emotionally difficult hai. This film’s story is in a commercial space, it’s about incompleteness.” Zero showcases SRK as the vertically-challenged Bauua, Anushka as Aafia Bhinder, a scientist with cerebral palsy and Katrina as an alcoholic superstar Babita Kumari.
SRK, who has acted as well as co-produced Zero, says, “It’s very interesting that Aanand has touched about incompleteness. Yet, all the three characters are confident. Aafia is one of the most intelligent scientists in the
country, perhaps in the world. Babita is beautiful, while Bauua is the most confident and cocky person in the world. And all three of them are suffering from a certain kind of complex, which they don’t ask sympathy or empathy for.”
Challenging the actors to play interesting characters has always been Aanand’s forte. Zero not only has a stellar lead cast but also powerful supporting actors and some interesting guest appearances. The film’s music has struck the right note and provides an interesting mix for all moods. Composed by Ajay-Atul, the soundtrack boasts of varied songs, each of which has been topping the charts.
Red Chillies Entertainment and Colour Yellow Productions come together to bring Zero. Produced by Gauri Khan, starring Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, the Aanand L Rai directorial releases today.
