Ranveer Singh was apparently keen on setting up Ranbir Kapoor with Kangana Ranaut
Ranbir Kapoor's name got dragged into the Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut controversy after a mention of a certain 'RK' in one of Kangana's leaked e-mails.
The e-mail mentioned "Rangu" (Kangana's sister, Rangoli) writing to Hrithik about Kangana being "friends with benefits" with 'RK'. According to the e-mail, when Kangana was in Gwalior shooting for 'Revolver Rani', 'RK' supposedly made a "slight straight forward approach" and expressed interest in her, although she turned him down.
Kangana later "asked him if he'd be interested in a physical relationship", adding that a "regular relationship" was out of the question since she was "in love" with someone else (Hrithik). The letter stated, "I couldn't figure out why he got so pissed as he too was seeing kat (sic)."
If it was not already clear that "RK" was Ranbir, the mention of "Kat" eliminated all doubts since it's known to all that Ranbir and Katrina Kaif were in a long-term relationship, then.
However, the link-up rumours apparently didn't go down too well with Ranbir. A source close to RK had then told DNA After Hrs, "He is wondering where these rumours originated as there is no truth to it. Ranbir, who is shooting for Jagga Jasoos in Mumbai, since he has come back from Morocco, is in a state of shock over the spate of stories that have sprung out of nowhere in the last few months.
He is upset that people are taking advantage of the fact that he doesn’t issue clarifications. There is no truth in the stories of Ranbir and Kangana’s affair, yet in a very systematic manner this is being spread in media."
However the topic of Kangana re-surfaced after a self-admittedly 'single' Ranbir appeared on 'Koffee With Karan' with Ranveer Singh in 2016.
When the host, Karan Johar, asked Ranveer during the rapid fire round that who he would want to set Ranbir up with, he did not think twice before taking Kangana's name. He then went on to add, "Fireworks. He loves it."
The 'Queen' actress later responded to this by saying that she considered Ranveer a friend who was just curious about her love life.
Recently at the success bash of 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', Kangana's direct dig at Ranbir Kapoor and his girlfriend Alia Bhatt - was dubbed as the final nail in their rumoured relationship.
