Irrfan Khan has been successful in his career as an actor back in Bollywood as well as in Hollywood. However, were you aware that Irrfan's original dream was to become a cricketer? The actor had spilled the little detail on a show with Abhish Matthew.

“When I was selected, the team had to travel from Jaipur to Ajmer, and I needed Rs 200-250. I couldn’t arrange for it. So that day, I realised that I couldn’t pursue this,” Irrfan was heard saying on the show.

Talking about his skills in cricket, Irrfan said, “My captain liked my bowling, so he made me a bowler. I don’t know. He used to tell me, ‘Throw me a nice one…’ I used to just throw the ball and somehow used to get a couple of wickets.”

Irrfan also revealed that he was selected for one of the tournaments, but couldn't risk being a cricketer because his family wouldn't allow it. “I was selected in one of the tournaments - CK Nayudu. The situation in my house was such that I had to lie to go and play, and make excuses when asked where we were. So it wasn’t encouraged to have a career in sports,” he said.

The actor breathed his last today morning. He died of complications due to colon infection at the age of 53. While Vishal Bhardwaj, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kapil Sharma, Mika Singh and Rajpal Yadav attended Irrfan's funeral in Versova along with the actor's family, various other celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan and others paid their condolences over Twitter and Instagram.
