WATCH: When Shah Rukh Khan asked his wife Gauri Khan to wear a 'burqa', change name to Ayesha

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his interior designer, entrepreneur wife Gauri Khan's love story is nothing short of inspirational and that the two have been setting major couple and relationships goals for years now, is undeniable. The two share a bond that reinstates our faith in unconditional love and marriage. 

And while we are talking about this dynamic duo, an old video of Shah Rukh Khan in which the Badshah of Bollywood can be seen recalling a funny incident from his wedding reception during a talk show with actor Farida Jalal, is going viral on the internet yet again. 

In the video, Shah Rukh Khan can be seen talking about several things including who would he take along with him if he gets to spend a day on an island and more.

While recalling an incident from his wedding reception with Gauri, SRK revealed that though he respects all religions and individual beliefs, just for the sake of fun he asked Gauri to wear a 'burqa' and offer 'namaaz' in front of the guests as he informed everyone that he has decided to change her name to 'Ayesha' and she will not be stepping out of the house after the ceremony is over. 

Recalling the incident, SRK said, "I remember, when their whole family, old fashioned people, I respect them all and respect their beliefs but at that time, in that old-fashioned reception, all of them were sitting there when I came in at 1:15, whispering "Hmmm.. He's a Muslim boy. Hmm.. Will he change the girl's name? Will she (Gauri) become a Muslim?” " He further added, "They were all talking in Punjabi. So, I looked at the time and said, “OK Gauri, put on your 'burqa' and let's offer namaaz now." 

"The whole family stared at us wondering if I had already changed her religion," he added. 

He further said, "So I told them, 'from now on she will wear a burqa all the time, she won’t ever leave the house and her name will be changed to Ayesha and she will be like this." 

"So I had a lot of fun, but the lesson in all this was that one respects religion but it should not come in the way of love," SRK said. "Now the time has come when her family love me more than they love her," he added. 

As per reports, SRK and Gauri had a 'nikah' on August 26, 1991, followed by a Hindu wedding ceremony on October 25, 1991. Before the two ceremonies, the couple had registered for a court marriage. SRK being a Muslim and Gauri being a Punjabi, the couple had solemnized their wedding through both religious traditions.
