Talking about the project, Deepika had told BollywoodLife, "I was happy to see Deepika's first look from the film. I was feeling good that a celebrity has come in that look. A lot of make-up artistes changed a natural face to acid distorted face. And I felt, 'see, they are finding beauty in an acid-burnt face."

Also starring Vikrant Massey, who appeared in movies like 'Lootera', 'Dil Dhadakne Do', 'A Death In The Gunj' and 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', the movie will mark Deepika Padukone's venture into production. It is slated to release on January 10, 2020, with Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'.
