Video: Akshay Kumar donates for Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya, urges people to join him

As the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has commenced, Akshay Kumar has announced that he has made a donation for it. The actor posted a video on his social media pages in which he speaks about narrating the story of the construction of Ram Setu to his son. Akshay also requested people to donate for the construction of Ram Mandir via the video and urged them to join hands with him.

Akshay captioned the video stating, "बहुत खुशी की बात है कि अयोध्या में हमारे श्री राम के भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण शुरू हो चूका है...अब योगदान की बारी हमारी है | मैंने शुरुआत कर दी है, उम्मीद है आप भी साथ जुड़ेंगे | जय सियाराम  (It is a matter of great pleasure that the construction of our grand temple of Shri Rama has begun in Ayodhya… Now it is our turn to contribute. I have started, hopefully you will also join together. Jai Siyaram).

Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Dr Anil Kumar Mishra recently launched the donation drive for the construction of Ram Mandir. According to New India Express, he had said, "Donations can be accepted through four mediums in the form of coupon worth Rs 10, Rs 100, Rs 1000. Besides, cash till Rs 20,000 will be accepted by the delegations but beyond Rs 20,000, donations will have to be made through cheque."

Mishra also said, "Celebrities would also be approached by the delegations involved in the donation drive."

Meanwhile, Akshay is set to star in a film titled Ram Setu directed by Abhishek Sharma.
