Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Manekshaw biopic gets its title, find out

On Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw's birth anniversary, the makers of his biopic have finally announced the title of the film. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, the Meghna Gulzar directorial is titled Sam Bahadur and the announcement was done most intensely. Vicky's first look as Sam was unveiled in 2019, which made fans excited as ever. Now that the title is revealed, people can't contain their excitement for the much-anticipated biopic.

While sharing the teaser, Vicky wrote on his Instagram page, "The man. The legend. The brave heart. Our Samबहादुर... On the birth anniversary of Field Marshal #SamManekshaw, his story has found its name. #SamBahadur."

Sam Manekshaw’s military career spanned four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

In a statement, Meghna spoke about Sam Bahadur stating, "He was a soldier's soldier and a gentleman's gentleman. They don't make men like Sam Bahadur anymore. I'm so honoured to be telling his story with Ronnie Screwvala and the incredibly talented Vicky Kaushal. On the Field Marshal’s birth anniversary, his story has got its name. While an excited Vicky shared, "I had always heard stories about Sam Bahadur from my parents who hail from Punjab and have seen the 1971 war but when I read the script I was completely blown away. He is a hero and patriot who is still remembered and loved to this day and capturing his spirit in the film is of the highest importance to me."

Ronnie Screwwala who is producing Sam Bahadur under his home banner RSVP Movies said, "We are excited and honoured to unfold the story of one of our greatest heroes and announce the title Sam Bahadur on the occasion of his birth anniversary. A great man was born today and we hope to do everything in our power to honour his memory and legacy."
