For two weeks now, Ranveer Singh aka Simmba has been roaring. The actor, who got major success in his first Rohit (Masala) Shetty outing, was having an envious run at the ticket windows with the film collecting Rs 226.05 crore at the local box office until Monday.

However, Simmba was stopped partially in the tracks on January 11 by the Vicky Kaushal-Yami Gautam-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike directed by Aditya Dhar.

This war drama, which was marketed as B-Town’s Zero Dark Thirty and viewed by cynics as the current administration’s caustic message to infiltrators, has found such a favourable response at the ticket windows that it will be a win-win situation for producer Ronnie Screwvala.

Not only has Uri won over the masses, it has also catapulted Vicky into the big league by declaring him as one of the most sound talents in Bollywood at this point. In fact, the actor, who had a golden run in 2018 with two superhits Raazi and Sanju, finds himself inching towards superstardom.

Like they say, when it rains, it pours. And currently, it is pouring in Vicky’s backyard.
