And so, when he put out a harmless tweet about weight gain during the festive season and warned the netizens how it could take them thousands of rupees to shed the extra kilos but only a few hundred bucks to eat the sweets, an irked Twitter user accused the actor of being biased towards 'Sanatani' festivals.

In a Twitter post, Riteish had shared the costs of various sweets that people like as indulgences during festivals such as laddu, jalebi, kaju ki barfi and chocolate, and alongside it wrote the price of a weight loss package that they would need to shed the gained kilos. He then wrote that he just thought of warning everyone beforehand.

However, one Twitter user reacted to Riteish's harmless tweet in a rather unexpected way and tried to school the actor by tweeting, "You people are enlightened only during Sanatani (Hindu) festivals? Eid ya New Year ya Christmas par muh mein dahi jama lete ho."

In a fitting response with much calm and composure, Riteish replied to the Twitter user and wrote, "Sorry sir – Main Vegan hoon, dahi nahi khaata (Sorry sir, I'm vegan. I don't eat curd)."

On the work front, Riteish will be next seen in 'Visfot'. Directed by Kookie Gulati, it also stars Fardeen Khan, who is making a comeback in films after 11 years, in the lead role.

The film is the official remake of 'Rock, Paper and Scissors' (2012), Venezuela's entry for the Academy Awards that year in the Best Foreign Language film section.

The story of 'Visfot' oscillates between Dongri, Mumbai, and the high-rises of the city, and will be shot in real locations. The film is being produced by Sanjay Gupta, Anuradha Gupta and Bhushan Kumar.
