As social media is buzzing with citizens voicing their opinion on high fuel price and government's failure in controlling it, celebrities like Farhan Akhtar have also voiced their opinions on the matter.

At the music launch of 'Veere Di Wedding', co-producer Ekta Kapoor was also asked to comment on the fuel price hike and in a bizarre comment soap queen focussed more on promoting her upcoming film than the burning issue that is bothering every citizen in the country. When reporters at the press conference asked Ekta Kapoor's opinion on rising petrol and diesel price, she said, “Even if petrol prices are at its highest, men will take women for drives & in today’s time, women will take men for drives. This isn’t the movie that you’re going to stop watching as at this time you need to spend less on driving & more in theatre.”

This didn't go down well with Twitter as they trolled her on the social media. Twitterati mocked at her and wrote,  “But how will we reach the theatre? Are you providing free transport? I don’t have money for petrol and so can’t drive to the theatre to watch your movies.” 

 Recently, Ekta Kapoor was targetted by Twitter for her harsh comments on Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie's take on one of her TV shows.
