Twitter deletes Kangana's tweet calling Rohit Sharma and other cricketers 'Dhobi ka Kutta'
The Hindi film actor had called out Rohit Sharma and many other cricketers saying 'they were neither here nor there' on the issue of farmers' protests
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's tweets have been found violating Twitter's rules and thus are facing deleting since morning on Thursday, February 4. The Himachal Pradesh-born actor has been in a proactive mode on the social media platform since Wednesday after pop star Rihanna and Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg raised their voice against the internet shutdown in the various parts of Indian capital, Delhi and in support of the farmers' protest.
On Thursday, quoting India's opening batsman Rohit Sharma's tweet supporting the Government of India's argument about the farmers' protest being internal matter, Kangana called him and many other cricketers who did the same - Dhobi ka kutta, na ghar ka na ghat ka (To fall between two stools/Neither here nor there).
Calling the farmers as terrorists and suggesting the cricketers are scared to say so, the 33-year old actor wrote, "Why all these cricketers sounding like dhobi ka kutta na ghar ka na ghat ka, why would farmers be against laws which are revolutionary for their well being. These are terrorists who are causing ruckus ... say that na itna darr lagta hai?"
Later Twitter removed the actor's tweet saying that it violates the rules of the platform (being abusive and harmful).
After the support by the international celebs, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement terming the responses from international celebrities, 'inaccurate and irresponsible' and coined two hastags #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainst Propaganda.
The statement followed a fluury of tweets by Indian celebrities from politics to entertainment to sports amplifying the fact that it is India's internal matter and the country is more than capable of handling it and don't need outsiders to participate in the same.
