Twinkle Khanna responds to threats of violence over Akshay Kumar's 'Rustom' costume auction

When Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar announced the auction of naval costume the actor wore for his National Award winning film, 'Rustom', it created a stir on social media. While the Bollywood couple intended on raising money to support the cause of animal welfare and rescue, trolls started targetting the couple with threats of violence.

On Sunday, Mrs Funnybones decided to give it back to one of them and said she will take legal action against those threatening a woman with bodily harm. In reply to the message which was shared by a journalist turned author's tweet, Twinkle wrote back, "As a society do we really think it’s all right to threaten a woman with bodily harm for trying to raise funds for a charity by auctioning a uniform used in a movie, a piece of film memorabilia ? I will not retaliate with violent threats but by taking legal action!”

Rustom is a 2016 period thriller about the Nanavati murder case in which Akki played the role of Rustom Pavri. While the actor earned praises and awards for playing a patriotic character in the film, his naval costume had got flak for being inaccurate. Once again the same Rustom costume created a ruckus on social media in spite of being auctioned for a good cause.
