Recently Kanika, who had announced her Covid-19 diagnosis on Instagram had also later deleted the post. In addition to this, one of her family members who wished to remain anonymous said, "We are now worried over the test reports. It seems that Kanika is not responding to treatment and in this lockdown, we cannot even airlift her for advanced treatment. We can only pray for her recovery."

However, doctors at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) said that the singer’s condition was stable. For the uninformed, Kanika was hospitalized on March 20, after she returned from London on March 9 and then travelled to Kanpur and Lucknow.
