THIS is Majid Majidi's reason for rejecting Deepika Padukone for 'Beyond The Clouds'

Filmmaker Majid Majidi's 'Beyond The Clouds' premiered at International Film Festival of India recently. The film got a standing ovation and everyone couldn't resist praising his direction and Ishaan Khatttar's mature acting in his first film itself.

But the important question remains Why Majid Majidi didn't cast Deepika 'Padmavati' Padukone in this film?

Remember the actress' de-glammed pictures had gone viral when she auditioned for the part in Iranian filmmaker's project. But soon Malvika Mohanan was confirmed for the female lead opposite Ishaan Khattar who makes his debut with this film.  Reports even suggested that Deepika Padukone wasn’t too keen on the role and that she had done the look test as a mark of respect for the director. 

Finally! we got to know director's take on why Bollywood superstar was rejected for the part. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror he said, “I didn’t want to work with Bollywood superstars. I always wanted to shoot at different locations in Mumbai , because places are also characters in my films. But even for one audition, It was difficult with Deepika Padukone as there was a large crowd and even more curiosity. That was the reason for not wanting to cast a superstar.” 

Unfortunately, that does make sense!
