Talking about the box office prediction for opening day, Girsh Johar told Times Now, "The Sky is Pink is an upmarket and niche film. The reviews that it has got so far are amazing. But the film targets a specific set of audience. It is not a wide, commercial entertainer. With Priyanka coming back after a long time and Farhan as her co-star, I feel the film should open anywhere between Rs 3 crore-Rs 4 crore."

He added, "Much will depend on the word of mouth here. If it turns out to be positive, the film will grow during the evening and night shows. Chances of growth over the weekend will also be high in that case."

Johar concluded by saying, "War will definitely bring in big numbers over its second weekend but I doubt that it will impact the performance of The Sky is Pink. Both are absolutely different films. In the limited space that The Sky is Pink has, it will perform well regardless of the War wave."
