Abhishek Kapoor's most anticipated film Kedarnath, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan has finally made its way for the masses after overcoming a lot of hurdles. Set against the backdrop of the devastating Uttarakhand floods, Kedarnath has piqued the interests of the audience to a great extent. Director Abhishek Kapoor, who has immense faith in Lord Bholenath brought him closer to this film. 

Abhishek Kapoor's journey as a kid while he visited Vaishnav Devi and Amritsar always grabbed his attention and triggered his desire to travel places. Since Kedarnath has a lot of purity and heart, Abhishek Kapoor chose to shoot there and give a tribute to Kedarnath

Talking about the same, Abhishek Kapoor shares, "I am a staunch devotee of Shivaji. Some stories come through you and some choose you, and I believe this is one of those stories. He has chosen me to tell this story. The two- year journey of making and developing this film and going through all the hardships has been a pilgrimage in itself. The best part of the film is that it has brought me closer to him." 

Kedarnath is an eternal love story set in the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple town in June of 2013. It is a potent combination of love and religion, passion and spirituality. The floods that took the lives of over a hundred thousand people is a powerful backdrop for this epic love story.

Kedarnath marks the debut of Sara Ali Khan and also presents the second association of Abhishek Kapoor with Ronnie Screwvala along Sushant Singh Rajput after Kai Po Che
