Ace filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, in the beginning of the year 2017, gave us a film which starred three talented actors of the Hindi film industry in the lead roles, namely Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.

With such powerful performers and Bhardwaj directing the film, Rangoon was expected to be a massive hit.

However, it failed to impress the audience and tanked at the box-office.

The audience and crtics wished that the film had done justice to the talent that the leads had.

Recently, during an interaction with Huffington Post, Vishal Bhardwaj was asked which is that one film of his which is close to his heart but hasn't done well at the box and didn't receive a good response. To this he answered Rangoon

He said, "There I was trying to do something else, I was trying to match the aesthetics of a musical with a real world. Then the VFX. It was out of my hand for that film. We as an industry cannot make a film as ambitious in scale as a Rangoon. The actors that were in the film (Saif, Shahid and Kangana) they didn’t gel well with each other. It all got quite badly messed up in the end."

Talking about the actors not gelling well on the sets affecting the final output, Vishal said, "It must have. I don’t have a perspective on that. I haven’t watched Rangoon since it released. Recently, I was in Chicago where they were playing Haider and this was the rare time when I had an opinion about my work-I felt that Haider was an accomplishment. Then I’d say it’s Maqbool and then Omkara."

Meanwhile, Vishal Bhardwaj's last directorial venture was Pataakha which starred Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan.

The comedy-drama narrated the tale of two sisters who share a difficult relationship with each other.
