'Takht': Here's how Karan Johar reminded people of the ensemble cast of his upcoming directorial

It's been more than a year since Karan Johar announced his upcoming directorial Takht. Set against the backdrop of Mughal Era, this will be KJo's first outing in period drama and he has roped in leading actors of Bollywood to play the important characters in the film. The ensemble cast includes Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. After the announcement, several reports started making the rounds that the film might be shelved but Karan time and again said that Takht is very much on.

Recently, he shared a couple of videos on his Instagram story through which he reminded the star cast of Takht and also a few glimpses of the prep he has planned to. In the video, we can see photos of the leading cast namely Anil, Kareena, Ranveer, Alia, Vicky, Bhumi and Janhvi. This has made fans go berserk and they can't wait for the film to go on floors.

Earlier while talking about Takht, Karan told Hindustan Times, "It’s a period saga and a spectacle, and will have all the trappings of the genre. But at heart, it’s a family film which strongly revolves around the emotions of one family." Karan went on to say, "Actually, it is. It’s my return to making a strong, emotional and dynamic family film."

He also told Film Companion, "It’s like the K3G of the Mughal era. But it’s more extreme, there is more betrayal. It has the tropes of court politics. It’s so rich in texture."
