"I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours," Shekhar Kapur had tweeted after hearing about Sushant's demise.

Here's his tweet:

Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra home on June 14, 2020. While his demise was declared suicide, an investigation is ongoing in the matter. It has been reported that the actor was suffering from depression since the last six months.

Shekhar Kapur would be the latest to be interrogated by the Mumbai Police, who have already spoken to more than 28 people including Sushant's close friend Rhea Chakraborty and his 'Dil Bechara' co-star Sanjana Sanghi.

Sushant Singh Rajput was going to work with Shekhar Kapur on a dream project called 'Paani'. The film was being backed by YRF, but it was eventually shelved after they moved out of it. The movie was going to mark Sushant's third film collaboration with the production house after 'Shuddh Desi Romance' and 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!' Reportedly, the Mumbai Police has also received a copy of Sushant's contract with YRF recently.
