As per a report in Indian Express, Sunil has been signed to play Salman Khan’s friend in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat, which also marks Priyanka Chopra’s much-awaited return to home turf. The daily quoted a source as saying, “Sunil Grover will be playing Salman Khan’s friend in Bharat. His role is not like what we see in another films where comedians are used for a couple of comic punches and then they disappear. He has an interesting role in the film.”

For the unversed, the film will chronicle India’s journey from 1947 till today. While the details of the project have been kept hush-hush so far, the title indicates a hint of patriotism. A source recently revealed to us, “Salman will sport five different looks in Bharat, which begins with him witnessing one of the most dramatic chapters of our history — the Partition. It’s an Indian adaptation of the Korean movie, Ode to My Father and will be a commercial film with a mix of action, drama and music.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sunil moved out of The Kapil Sharma Show in March last year after their infamous mid-air brawl and is currently seen on the cricket show, Dhan Dhana Dhan.
