Tiger Shroff, debutantes Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student of the Year 2 maintained a steady pace on its first weekend. The movie made Rs 12.06 crore on its opening day, while on Saturday, the film showed 16% growth than the first day as it minted about Rs 14.02 crore. On Sunday, despite Phase 6 Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and IPL final, SOTY 2 showed limited growth and it went on to make Rs 12.75 crore.

However, SOTY 2 failed the Monday litmus test as it showed a decline of 54.23%. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film starring Tiger, Ananya and Tara collected Rs 5.52 crore. Now, the total four-day collections are Rs 44.35 crore. The movie will cross Rs 50 crore mark on its second week for sure.

Student of the Year 2 is the sequel to Karan Johar's directorial Student of the Year released in 2012. With that film, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra made their debut in Bollywood.

This is Tiger's first outing with Karan's home banner Dharma Productions. The film recorded second-best opening for Tiger after Baaghi 2 which released last year.
