After Sridevi's sudden demise in February this year which broke a million hearts, the veteran actress was honoured at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2018 with a special salute at the Titan Reginald F Lewis Film Honours on Thursday.
While reports were abuzz that Sridevi's family including husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi Kapoor and Khushi will be going to the French Riviera for the presentation ceremony, it was filmmaker Subhash Ghai who received the award on behalf of her family. The filmmaker was in Cannes to announce his first ever internation film based on Osho was overwhelmed to receive the honour on behalf of Sridevi's family.
Subhash Ghai took to Twitter and wrote, "It was honour to receive Award on behalf of legend @SrideviBKapoor at @Festival_Cannes yesterday for her outstanding contribution in indian cinema n shared my experience with impeccable inimitable actor to western audience hosted by Titan Reginald F. Lewis film honours"

DNA After Hrs earlier reported that the evening was dedicated to the much-missed screen queen Sridevi, with a special evening of reminiscences, anecdotes, memories and visual footage of her best performances in the presence of filmmakers from across the world. Starting her career as a child actor at the age of four, Sri has a repertoire of 300 films across multiple languages. An emotional Boney Kapoor had earlier said, “Janhvi, Khushi and I are overwhelmed with the recognition and tributes and love of millions of her fans being showered on her. Her work and life have touched so many hearts across the world and she has been an inspiration to millions. She will live forever, thanks to her body of work.”
Recently, Sridevi was also posthumously awarded the National Film Award Best Actress category for her last Hindi film Mom, which also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in the lead. 90th Academy Awards ceremony too also honoured Bollywood icons Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi in the ‘Memoriam’ section.
