Dacoit-based film Sonchiriya hit the screens on Friday and it opened to good reviews by the critics. However, the box office report has something to say. The film minted Rs 1.20 on its opening day which is too dull. Talking about the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#SonChiriya opens to low numbers since the screen count [720 screens]/shows are limited and also because it caters to a niche audience... Biz on Day 2 and 3 crucial... Fri ₹ 1.20 cr. India biz."

Even on Day 2, the film hardly showed any progress as the film made about Rs 1.50 crore, as reported by Taran. He tweeted, "#SonChiriya falls flat on Day 2... Minimal growth on Sat is not good news at all, seals the fate... Fri 1.20 cr, Sat 1.50 cr. Total: ₹ 2.70 cr. India biz." It doesn't look like the game of Son Chiriya will change.

Check out Taran's tweets below:

Sonchiriya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles. It is set in Chambal and all the actors don a totally different look. The film was released in 720 screens and it has a niche audience.

The movie clashed with Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi which is doing decent business at the box office. The film crossed Rs 10 crore in two days.
