The actor took to social media to announce the film along with the first look of the film and wrote, "SONCHIRIYA #AbhishekChaubey @RSVPMovies @RonnieScrewvala @honeytrehan @psbhumi @BajpayeeManoj @RanvirShorey @ashutoshrana10 https://t.co/hYI9cI9Qgc".

Sushant, who had started shooting for the film last week, had earlier taken to Instagram to share a picture from the sets. He captioned the post as, “Really excited !! Shoot for one of my favourite, #AbhishekChaubey’s Film starts today in chambal. #RonnieScrewvala #BajpayeeManoj #bhumipednekar #RanvirShorey #AshutoshRana #MaheshBalraj.”

Sporting a rough look which seems to be inspired by Gabbar Singh, Sushant is definitely piquing the interest of the audience. The film will feature Bhumi Pednekar opposite Sushant in yet another small town story after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan.

Son Chiriya also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles as the film presents a rooted tale set in Chambal.
