Shershaah: Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani begin shooting for Vikram Batra biopic in Chandigarh

Sidharth Malhotra has begun shooting for the much anticipated Vikram Batra biopic along with Kiara Advani on Tuesday. Shershaah, which is based on the life of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, went on floors in Chandigarh, where a few members of the cast and crew came together to pose for the shutterbugs. 

Karan Johar's Dharma Productions recently made it official that the Vikram Batra biopic has been officially titled Shershaah. The film is being directed by Vishnu Varadhan and written by Sandeep Srivastava. The film brings Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani together on silver screens for the very first time. 

As per reports, Sidharth may be seen in a double role in Shershaah. He's likely to play Captain Vikram Batra as well as his twin Vishal Batra. Those who're caught unaware, Captain Vikram Batra was martyred in the Kargil War when he was just 24-years-old.

Speaking about the film, Sidharth had earlier shared in an interview with PTI, "We are planning how to cleverly deal with it (double roles). He impacted so many people in the Army. I won't say he is a personality that everybody knows but I felt it was a story that needed to be told. I found his story fascinating."

Sidharth has recently wrapped up Jabariya Jodi with Parineeti Chopra and Marjaawan with Tara Sutaria. Kiara Advani will soon be seen in Kabir Singh along with Shahid Kapoor.
