While many Bollywood celebrities like Anurag Kashyap, Pooja Bhatt, Anubhav Sinha, Richa Chadha, Lisa Ray, Vishal Dadlani, and Sudhir Mishra appreciated Deepika for supporting the students and standing up for them, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel tagged her move as an act of publicity.

In a series of tweets, Rangoli slammed Deepika and said that the Padmaavat actress is not interested in JNU students, only money.

Rangoli went on to question if Deepika has ever taken a stand on any other issues such as Article 370, CAA or Pulwama.

However, Rangoli added that she was happy Deepika expressed her support openly but also quipped that the actress has simply done PR at JNU.

Earlier today, Rangoli had posted a video of Kangana Ranaut wherein the actress thanked Deepika and Meghna Gulzar for making a film on acid attack survivors and for throwing light on the subject. Rangoli had also thanked the team of 'Chhapaak' for telling 'a story that needs to be told.

A few weeks back when Deepika had shared the trailer of Chhapaak with the world, Rangoli had appreciated the actress for making a film on acid attack survivors.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is all set to release on January 10, 2020. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role.
