Kriti Sanon is one of the few Bollywood actresses who are not afraid of voices her opinions and calls out things which she feels are wrong. Kriti has always been vocal about insensitive media coverage around celebrity deaths. She criticised the media last year after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case and in June this year after legendary actor Dilip Kumar passed away. Kriti has now slammed the media again for their wide coverage around Sidharth Shukla’s death.

Sidharth Shukla was a young and bright star of the entertainment industry and had a massive fan following. His demise has left his friends, family and fans in a state of shock. Taking to her Instagram stories, Kriti said its ‘shameful’ the way some media houses and paparazzi covered Sidharth’s funeral.

She wrote, “Breaks my heart to see our media, photographers and even online portals being so insensitive. Shameful! This isn’t “News”, nor is it “Entertainment”! Draw some boundaries! Have a conscience! Said it before, Saying it again! STOP covering funerals!”

She also added, “Stop hounding people who are dealing with personal loss by flashing your camera in their face at their most vulnerable time ! And for what? A few posts? Online portals and channels are equally at fault” Take a stand, DON’T post those pictures and videos ! Stop faking sensitivity by just writing “Heartbreaking” in the captions of such inhuman insensitive posts.”

Not just Kriti, but across Anushka Sharma also shared comedian Zakir Khan’s post on how celebrity deaths get turned into ‘tamasha’ by the media. Anushka took to her Instagram stories and re-shared khan’s post.

The poem, originally in Hindi, read, “They don't think of you as a human being. Not because there aren't any lines or boundaries. Your corpse is not a body without a soul, but an opportunity to click pictures. As many as they can click. It's similar to how people try to steal crockery from houses burning in a riot. Because after that, what use will you be? At most, 10 pictures, five news pieces, three videos, two stories, one post. That's it.”

Sidharth Shukla passed on September 2 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 40. He was laid to rest on September 3 at the Oshiwara crematorium in the presence of his mother, Rita Shukla, sisters, rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill and close friends.
