Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming sports drama 'Jersey' scheduled to hit theatres on April 14. The 'Udta Punjab' actor broke the internet on Saturday when he flaunted his new Mercedes Maybach S580 in the reel he shared on his Instagram handle. The classy diamond white Maybach S580's price starts at Rs 2.5 crore and goes up to Rs 3.2 crore.
In the video, Shahid is seen falling back on his car's driver seat, closing the door, and driving it in style. Alongside the video, he posted "Falling back bach" with the word 'back' cut out from his caption. The video soon went viral on the photo and video sharing platform owned by Facebook.
Though the comment section quickly got flooded with fire and red heart emojis for the 'Jab We Met' star, it was rapper Badshah's amusing reply that got the most attention. He punned the car's name as he wrote, "April mein may bach" and other Instagram users also joined him as they replied to him with funny remarks such as "May mein Maybach lena best hota!" and "Badshah always ready with witty lyrics rap ho ya post!!".
Later in the day, Shahid also shared a video lip-syncing to the popular track 'Maiyya Mainu' from his upcoming release 'Jersey' while enjoying his new Maybach. He also posted a witty caption to his video as he wrote, "Looking for a new driver. Mine just quit cause I can’t stop singing in the car". The video has been doing the rounds on social media.

Talking about 'Jersey', it is the official Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name. Shahid Kapoor essays the character portrayed by Nani in the original. Mrunal Thakur and Shahid's real-life father Pankaj Kapur also feature in pivotal roles in the film.
