Shah Rukh Khan on 25 years in Bollywood: I think it's 26 or 27 years, not 25 years!

Shah Rukh Khan is a phenomenon. It would not be wrong to say that SRK is one of the longest running superstars in Bollywood. The actor recently completed 25 Years in Bollywood and when we caught up with him, he was elated.

But he argues, "I just heard about it two three days back. I have to count because I think it's 26-27 years in the industry according to my estimates."

There's a lot that happened in this span of time.The industry went through several paradigm shifts and SRK has been witness to the same.  He says, "I have got a lot from the industry. I feel people have given me enough and now I want to do things where I can give back to people. I am going to turn 52 this year. So I have spent half my life here. The other day, I was sitting with my family and we were discussing how half my life is gone working."

Ask him about what has constantly inspired him and stayed with him all these years, he says it's the fans and their love. "People inspire me. Today's little thing that there are so many people outside my house. When actors work for so many years, their role becomes a little bigger than just acting. So people attach their hopes, aspirations, and other things in life to the actors. You start feeling that people love you for reasons other than just being an actor. That love is unexpected."

He adds, "I have never thought or measured ki itna milega. We were shooting for Jab Harry Met Sejal in Europe and we shot in Budapest, places where I haven't been to before. But people come in crowds and shower their love. I genuinely respect that Indians are spread so far and wide that itna pyaar milta hai that you start feeling that this must be special. You need to work really hard to make it worthwhile for everyone else who feels you are special. That inspires me."
