Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan posed for a picture with Australian actress Cate Blanchett, Sir Elton John as the three were honoured by the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum (WEF).The actors posed for the media with Hilde Schwab, chairperson and co-founder of Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, and Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the WEF, at the annual meeting.

SRK got honoured not for his cinematic brilliance but for the love he has been spreading to the needy through his non-profit organisation Meer Foundation. It works towards betterment of  acid attack victims by providing them with medical treatment, legal aid and everything that takes to make them independent.  Shah Rukh Khan took to the opportunity to thank all the ladies in his life. In his acceptance speech, the actor said, “I want to thank my sister, my wife and my little daughter for bringing me up well and teaching me the value of requesting, sometimes imploring and begging a yes from a woman, instead of forcing it upon her.”

After the ceremony SRK spoke to the media and said, “Extremely charged that I’ve had this amazing opportunity, this award, being recognized like this for minuscule work that I did, I’d like to do it with even more fervor. What is even more pleasant is that India is here in full power.” 

The 'Dear Zindagi star had earlier tweeted, "Honoured to receive the @wef' 24th Crystal Award, together with @eltonofficial and Cate Blanchett. My fan moment!! Watch the #crystalawards !"

The past awardees from India include Amitabh Bachchan, Mallika Sarabhai, A R Rahman, Shabana Azmi, Ravi Shankar and Amjad Ali Khan.
