It's a known fact that Alia Bhatt is a spitting image of her mom and veteran actor Soni Razdan. If one checks out throwback photos of the Sadak actor, it will remind you of how Alia looks now. Alia and Soni shared screen space for the first time in Raazi released in 2018. In the film, both played reel-life daughter and mother as well. A while back, Shabana Azmi decided to take a trip down memory lane with cute fact.

The legendary actor posted a still from the film, Mandi featuring Smita Patil and Soni. Shabana shared the photo with a caption stating, "#Alia Bhatt looks exactly like her mother #Soni Razdan. Here is proof. Still from #Mandi". The satirical comedy film released in the year 1983 and was directed by Shyam Benegal. The film was critically acclaimed and was based on a classic Urdu short story Aanandi by writer Ghulam Abbas.

Talking about Mandi, the film had an ensemble cast including Neena Gupta, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Saeed Jaffrey, Annu Kapoor, Aditya Bhattacharya, Anita Kanwar, Sreela Majumdar, Satish Kaushik, Gita Siddharth, Pankaj Kapur, Harish Patel, Ratna Pathak Shah, Amrish Puri, Bela Bose, Ila Arun and K. K. Raina in pivotal roles.

The film went on to win National Film Award for Best Art Direction by Nitish Roy.

Meanwhile, talking about Alia, her next film is Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra in which she is paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film is releasing in Summer 2020.
