See pic: Alia Bhatt gets to New York to be with Ranbir Kapoor and family

Alia Bhatt has arrived in New York to support boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his family. His father, Rishi Kapoor, is undergoing treatment in New York for an unspecified illness.

Because of Rishi Kapoor's treatment, Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor had to miss the funeral of Krishna Raj Kapoor earlier this month. The Mulk actor has been visited by Anupam Kher, Priyanka Chopra, and Sonali Bendre, who is also battling with cancer.

Alia posted a picture on her Instagram in which we can see her walking on the streets of New York. She captioned the image, "The Big Apple."

Rishi Kapoor left for NYC towards end of September. Before leaving, he tweeted, "Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!"

Rishi Kapoor's grey hair during his outing with Anupam Kher had fans worried about the health of the actor. But clearing the air, Kapoor tweeted, "This is to dispel all notions and wrong speculations of my hair turning grey/white overnight. My hair was dyed by Awan Contractor for a film produced by Honey Trehan and Sony pictures directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Film is untitled. Trust this clears the air."

Randhir Kapoor had also requested fans and the media to observe caution. "We don’t know yet what is the exact nature of his ailment. Rishi himself doesn’t know what he is suffering from. He hasn’t even started undergoing tests there; how can people speculate that he has cancer and that too, one that has escalated to an advanced stage," he told Times of India.
