Sanju trailer: Rajkumar Hirani solves mystery behind Anushka Sharma's character in Ranbir Kapoor film

The much-awaited Sanju trailer is out. While the Sanju teaser highlighted Ranbir Kapoor's unbelievable transformation in Sanjay Dutt biopic, makers have finally given a glimpse of other important characters in the film. Rajkumar Hirani film's trailer reveals Manisha Koirala is playing the role of Nargis Dutt, Paresh Rawal steps in the shoes of Sunil Dutt and Vicky Kaushal plays Dutt's best buddy.

Rajkumar Hirani shared Anushka Sharma's poster ahead of Sanju trailer launched promising that the trailer will reveal more but even after watching the trailer it's unclear what is Anushka Sharma playing in the film. Rumour mills were abuzz that she is playing the role of Madhuri Dixit in Dutt biopic but in the trailer she is seen as an important person to whom Ranbir's character pours his heart out even in the presence of Dia Mirza who plays the role of Maanayata Dutt. 

On Wednesday, the entire cast and crew of the film including Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Vijay Singh, Bhushan Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor,  Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza and Vicky Kaushal were present at the trailer launch. Though the audiences missed Anushka Sharma’s presence at the launch, Hirani was quizzed about her character.

And he had an interesting revelation to make. Rajkumar Hirani said, "Anushka Sharma actually jo role kar rahi hai Woh actually main aur Abhijat Hain. She is playing us, not a filmmaker but a biographer."

So does that mean while being true to Sanjay Dutt's life, Sanju will also have fictional characters in the film?

The trailer has garnered immense appreciation for the apt portrayal of Sanjay Dutt's life. While Ranbir Kapoor is being showered with praises for his amazing transformation into each phase of Sanjay Dutt's life, Rajkumar Hirani is hailed for his realistic portrayal. 

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will also stars an ensemble cast in addition to Ranbir Kapoor which includes Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza amongst others.
