66th National Awards took place in New Delhi on Friday. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Padmaavat, which went through a lot of controversies before its release, also bagged few awards. Ghoomar won the best choreography award, while Arijit Singh won bestplayback singer male for Binte Dil.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali spoke about both Ghoomar and Binte Dil in an interview to Bollywood Hungama previously. He revealed that the songs, much like Deewani Mastani, came to him while taking bath. For the uninitiated, the filmmaker composes his own songs.

When asked to elaborate on the music, he said, "I just made the song while having a bath. One day I was just having bath and it happened. It was similar with Deewani Mastani and lot of songs. (laughs)," adding, "A lot of these songs have emerged in complete silence and spontaneously."

The filmmaker also went on to mention, "Whatever I've heard over the years, I make tunes with them. I have heard a lot of music. If I ask someone else, another musician to come and work on it, I might lose in translation. I would hence start making my own songs from Guzaarish. I enjoyed making Ghoomar, Khalibali a lot. The minute I receive the lyrics, I start singing the song. I believe first time when I hum the song, that is it. In fact I don't believe musicians who say they would research and go in dark space. My songs are simple so people can sing them easily, and Ghoomar is just another example of it."

Sanjay Leela Bhansali concluded by saying, "People liked Ghoomar, videos were made on them. They even like Binte Dil. I thought the song was trippy. My first thought was who would understand Binte Dil Bisarya Mein? People still connected. It's Arijit's magic. The way he sang it helped, even though the tune is ordinary."
