Sanjay Leela Bhansali comes on board for movie on PM Narendra Modi

A biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, starring Vivek Oberoi, released earlier in 2019. The movie PM Narendra Modi, directed by Omung Kumar, became a sleeper hit. The story will now be re-narrated by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was last in news over directing Salman Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer Inshallah.

Although there is no update on Inshallah yet, Sanjay Leela Bhansali did confirm that he is producing a movie on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The biopic, which would be an hour-long film, is titled Mann Bairagi. Talking to Hindustan Times about the same, he mentioned, “The story was very well-researched, and the turning point of our PM’s life as a young man, really intrigued me. I felt that it’s an unheard story which needs to be told.”

The film is being co-produced by Mahaveer Jain, who went on to state, “Mann Bairagi brings out that defining moment in the journey of our PM which has not been in public knowledge so far. I am sure it will connect and inspire our today’s youth deeply, and that’s what excited us to work on this film.”

Mann Bairagi will be helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy. Talking about his interest in the project, Ssanjay added, “For me, it’s a human interest story about the self-discovery of a person who went on to become such a strong leader of our country.”

The first look of Mann Bairagi will be unveiled on PM Narendra Modi's 69th birthday i.e. on September 17. The look will be unveiled by actor Prabhas across digital platforms.
