Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar was on Sunday (June 6) morning hospitalised after having trouble breathing. As the day progressed, rumours about the actor’s death started doing rounds on social media.

Legendary actress and Dilip Kumar’s wife, Saira Banu took to Twitter on Sunday evening, and quashed all the rumours while informing everyone that his condition is stable.

Taking to Dilip Kumar’s official Twitter handle she wrote, “Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heart-felt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah.”

The 98-year-old was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in the morning. Saira Banu told ANI that the actor has been facing breathing issues for the past few days.

The news of nonagenarian’s ill health was informed to his fans via his official Twitter account. “Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe,” the tweet read.

Post his diagnosis the doctors informed his family that he has bilateral pleural effusion (water in the lungs) and is now on oxygen support because of drop in oxygen saturation. Confirmed by Etimes, the doctor also said, "But he is stable and not in the ICU. If all goes well, he may be discharged in 2-3 days”.
