India celebrated the 390th birth anniversary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and on that occasion, superhit Marathi film Sairat's director Nagraj Manjule and Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh announced a multilingual trilogy on the brave leader. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the film will be backed by Riteish's production house Mumbai Film Company.

The actor took to Twitter and shared a teaser of the announcement, writing, "Proud to present. Seeking your blessings, Jay Shivray." Reports suggest that the film will go on floors soon and is all set to release in 2021.

Nagraj too shared the promo of the film on his social media handle. He wrote, "Standing at the threshold of a dream, this might be the case... Today, on the occasion of Shivaji's birthday, it is a pleasure to say that Shivratri is coming along with Ritesh Deshmukh and Ajay-Atul."

Ajay-Atul is a composer duo who has been a constant in all of Nagraj's films and will also score the music for the trilogy.

On the work front, Riteish will next feature in Baaghi 3. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film marks the third installment to the Baaghi series. Tiger Shroff's character has been named Roonie, like the previous films. Shraddha Kapoor, who starred in Baaghi, will play the role of his love interest as Siya. Jackie Shroff will also feature in the film as Tiger's on-screen father which will make this the first time that the real father-son duo will be seen sharing the screen space. The film is all set to release on March 6.

On the other hand, Nagraj's next film is Jhund, with Amitabh Bachchan. The movie will be released on May 8.
