Narendra Modi tweeted a few moment after music composer Khayyam passed away

ANI confirmed that veteran music composer Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi passed away on Monday. The 92-year-old was admitted to the hospital on August 15 following a lung infection. He was reportedly kept in Intensive Care Unit and showed little improvement.
Condolences have started pouring in for the veteran who breathed his last in Sujoy Hospital in Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid respect on Twitter and mentioned that India will remain forever grateful for all memorable compositions by Khayyam sahab.
"India will remain grateful to Khayyam Sahab for giving us some of the most memorable compositions, which will be remembered forever. He will also be remembered for his humanitarian gestures to support upcoming artists. His demise is extremely saddening," read NaMo's tweet.

Khayyam, as he was fondly called, is most remembered for his composition in Umrao Jaan and Kabhie Kabhie. He was even awarded best music for both the films. In 2010, Khayyam also received Lifetime Achievement Award. He is survived by his wife Jagjit Kaur.
