Ratna Pathak Shah to play Ranveer Singh's mother in 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar'

Ranveer Singh along with Shalini Pandey has been extensively shooting for his forthcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actors headed to Gujarat for the shoot and the film is being helmed by debutant Divyang Thakkar. In the film, Ranveer plays the role of a Gujarati for the very first time and impressed everyone with his first look unveiled a few weeks back. Now, one more actor has been roped in to play an important film in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Yes, veteran actor Ratna Pathak Shah will be seen playing the role of Ranveer's mother in the film. Interestingly, Divyang is Ratna's protégé during his theatre days and now he will be directing her in the film. Sharing about it, Ratna told Mid Day, "Some months ago, a young actor came to me with a script. Actors making movies can be tricky, so I was cautious as I began reading, but was thoroughly entertained by the end of the script. The story not only had a message but also had a heart."

She concluded by talking about the subject of Jayeshbhai Jordaar stating, "It talks about issues close to my heart."

Earlier when Ranveer was asked about working with Divyang, he had told, "I’m glad that today I find myself in a position where I can recognise exceptional talent and wholeheartedly back the vision of a brilliant new writer-director like Divyang. Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be my next release after ’83."
