The distinctive and individual characteristics of Indians settled abroad not only capture everyone’s attention but often our desi community is seen as a catalyst for some quirkiness. Metro Park is one such fascinating story that revolves around the members of a Gujarati family settled in New Jersey, USA. This happy-go-lucky story has been captured in the form of a web series, which will be showcased on Eros Now from today.
The story begins with Kannan and Kinjal, a newly-married couple, which moves out of their small New York City apartment to be close to the latter’s sister Payal and brother-in-law Kalpesh’s house in New Jersey. Kannan and Kinjal’s lives take a drastic turn as they are introduced to the quirky suburban Indian characters — Kalpesh, who runs an ‘American’ convenience store called ‘Pay & Run’ in the heart of India-town, New Jersey, along with Payal, who balances her family life and beauty salon.
The simplicity of these characters sketches a perfectly light-hearted comedy. This nine-episode series features Ranvir Shorey (Kalpesh), Purbi Joshi (Payal), Omi Vaidya (Kannan) and Vega Tamotia (Kinjal) in key roles. The talented Pitobash Tripathy plays the hilarious ‘assistant’ to Kalpesh.
