The actor will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in Gully Boy...
Ranveer Singh's upcoming release, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavati has been caught in a controversy due to which several fringe groups are demanding a ban on its release. Ranveer plays the character of Alauddin Khilji in SLB's magnum opus.
We've seen a few glimpses of his cruel character in Padmavati in the film's trailer. But looks like Ranveer has finally managed to move on from the film and his character and has begun prep for his next with Zoya Akhtar. The actor who gave it all to his role of Khilji, apparently had to see a psychiatrist in order to come out of his character.
A report on the Asian Age suggests that Ranveer rehearsed and partly recorded for Gully Boy on Monday. Ranveer will be seen playing a rapper in the film. He was dressed like a rapper, wearing a T-shirt with his cap turned backwards. His sunglasses completed his look. A source was quoted as saying, "Ranveer is very gung-ho about Zoya’s film. He has managed to move from an angry character to a character who follows his dreams and becomes a star in his own right in Gully Boy. The character that Ranveer plays in is very much like himself — happy, cheerful and atrangi (quirky)!”
Manwhile, Ranveer had earlier spoken about the controversy surrounding Padmavati and revealed that they've been asked not to speak on the issue. He also added that he stands 200% by the film and Bhansali and wants to give him a hug for all that he's going through.
