Ranveer Singh: ‘I want to launch my clothing line soon’

When it comes to his sartorial choices, Ranveer Singh manages to steal the show quite often. The Padmaavat actor, whose style sense ranges from bold to zany, always turns heads with his red-carpet appearances.

So, it’s natural to ask that at a time when many of his contemporaries are launching their own clothing line, does that excite him too? Ranveer says, “I’ve given it some thought. I do want to come out with my clothing range soon, but I’m so caught up with my acting right now that I’m not able to do other stuff.” Given his incredible energy, it’s surprising that he hasn’t explored the small screen yet. Ask him and he replies cheekily, “I think I’m cut out for television. A producer was articulating it for me when he offered me a popular TV show. He said, ‘You have all the makings, you’re a nanga person. You don’t have any qualms about making a fool of yourself. You don’t take yourself seriously and have a high level of energy.’” He adds, “I’ve been offered some of the biggest shows on Indian television but they didn’t work out due to one reason or another. However, I will host something soon because I really want to do so.”

The star also has quite a few other things on his bucket list. He smiles and says, “I would like to paint, compose songs and write scripts. Right now, it will take a little more time because, for the coming year, I’m just busy with my next few films. It’s been fulfilling and I’m too happy to be doing anything else right now.” With a lot of Bollywood actors venturing into the burgeoning digital world, does he have plans to explore the platform too? He states, “I’m open to the idea, but my focus right now is mainstream Hindi films. However, I’m not averse to it; never say never!”
