Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has been booked by the Hyderabad police for obscenity after a complaint was filed against him by a social activist. This happened just a day before the release of his upcoming film God, Sex and Truth that stars American porn star Mia Malkova. The film was already under controversy owing to its explicit content.

An IANS report suggests that A case was filed against RGV under section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. The report further stated that a police office informed that the complaint cited some photos that were allegedly posted by RGV on social media and one of the pictures shared is obscene. 

Reportedly, Varma was also booked under sections 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code for making personal comments against the complainant Devi and others who opposed the film. RGV has been charged with insulting the modesty of women. 

 

There have been a lot of protests against the release of the RGV film God, Sex and Truth. Women's groups in Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam have been demanding a ban on the release of the movie on the internet and immediate arrest of the filmmaker. Women activi

 

sts allege that RGV is releasing the film on the web to get away with the certification process of the film by authorities. They feel that Varma is portraying woman as a sex object and promoting pornography through his film. 

The trailer of God, Sex and Truth created a rage on social media. While some accused RGV of promoting nudity and vulgarity, others had objections to objectification of women as mere sexual objects.
