Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's film 'Raazi' shows no signs of slowing down at the box office
Last Friday saw the release of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Raazi'. Meghna Gulzar's spy thriller is not only winning hearts and critical acclaim but also raking in the moolah at the box office. The film had a fantastic run at the box office in the first week of its release with the total of Rs 56.59 crores at the box office.
The film which has registered its position as the fifth highest opener of 2018 after Padmaavat, Baaghi 2, Raid and Padman, Raazi didn't slow down on the working days of the week as well. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh applauded the weekday collections of the film and tweeted, "What’s noteworthy is the fact that #Raazi put up SUPERB numbers on weekdays, following an EXCELLENT opening weekend... The biz remained consistently above 5.25 cr from Mon to Thu, which indicates the word of mouth has translated into BO numbers."
Talking about the current trends and breakdown of collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on Twitter, “#Raazi emerges a WINNER. Does REMARKABLE biz in Week 1. Emerges 5th HIGHEST *Week 1* of 2018. Fri Rs 7.53 crore, Sat Rs 11.30 crore, Sun Rs 14.11 crore, Mon Rs 6.30 crore, Tue Rs 6.10 crore, Wed Rs 5.90 crore, Thu Rs 5.35 crore. Total: Rs 56.59 crore. India biz.”
Raazi is backed by strong content, talented ensemble cast and their power packed performances which are getting tremendous word of mouth publicity for the spy thriller. Based on author Harinder Sikka's film 'Calling Sehmat', Raazi features Alia Bhatt in the role of Kashmiri girl Sehmat who is married off to Pakistani army officer to spy for her nation during the times of Indo-Pak war.
