According to the Mid-day report, director Meghna Gulzar was filming a scene with the lead stars on Friday afternoon when the news of violence reached the team. Realising the seriousness of the matter, the crew had to pack up immediately. Says a source, " Given the situation, Meghna realised that it would be unsafe to shoot in Patiala. The team was required to shoot across several locations in the city, and moving around with the stars and equipment was a risky proposition. Mobile and Internet services were also stopped, so communication was another issue among the unit." Hours after the conviction and the unrest in the two states of Punjab and Haryana, curfew was also imposed in Patiala. Source said, "The cast and crew stayed inside the hotel over the weekend. They did not want any untoward incidents to unfold considering the high alert in the state."

Gulzar and the producers are yet to decide if they would continue shooting in Patiala or return back to Mumbai. The source add," They were discussing how it would be in everyone's best interests to put off the shoot till Monday. There is a possibility of things spiralling out of control after the sentencing." Team 'Razzi' kicktstarted the Patiala leg last week and was supposed to wrap up by September 10 and move to their next location in Chandigarh. The team has already completed their first schedule.

Actress Alia Bhatt will be seen in the role of a Kashmiri girl, who marries a Pakistani officer played by Vicky, to spy for the Indian Intelligence. Raazi is all set to hit the theatres on May 11, 2018.
