Actress Priyanka Chopra has been grabbing headlines both in India and internationally for her recently released memoir 'Unfinished' in which she has opened up about her personal and professional life.

And while Priyanka has addressed several controversial topics that popped up during her over two-decade-long career in the entertainment industry and made many a shocking revelation, she has also spoken about how she dealt with her father's loss also reflecting on how it was actor Hrithik Roshan who lent her a helping hand when her dad Dr Ashok Chopra fell sick.

In her recently released memoir titled Unfinished, Priyanka disclosed that actor Hrithik Roshan tried everything in his capacity to get the best treatment for Dr Chopra, who was diagnosed with cancer. She said that Hrithik managed to get them to London immediately where her father could receive better medical care after he made calls to his connections in Air India and got a flight booked for them.

"Incredibly, Hrithik who is hugely successful in the Hindi film industry got on the phone and used his connections at Air India to arrange for my father's immediate flight to London," read an excerpt from 'Unfinished', as per a report in National Herald.

"If we hadn't had people around us who were so kind and so willing to act on our behalf - Hrithik and his father, Rakesh Sir, our family in Boston - I doubt that my father would have made it. There's no way I can ever express my gratitude adequately to them, but it is deep and it is enduring," she added in the book.

Priyanka and Hrithik have worked together in 'Krrish', 'Krrish 3' and 'Agneepath'.

As mentioned earlier, in her memoir, Priyanka has also written about how heartbroken she was after the death of her father in 2013.

At the launch of 'Unfinished', Priyanka shared a video of a live reading and dedicated the book to her dad. Priyanka read out the dedication, "Dear Papa, much like the title of this book, your story was unfinished. With that in mind, I dedicate the rest of mine to you. I miss you, dad."

Earlier, DNA had reported about the one ground rule that Priyanka's dad had set during her initial days in the film industry which saved her from terrible experiences in Bollywood.

She disclosed that before she hired outside management, her father Dr Ashok Chopra had established one "unbreakable rule". "No nighttime meetings, nothing after sundown"

Priyanka says in the memoir, "At that time, of course, I didn't understand it. Whenever I questioned the rule, he'd stand firm: 'All meetings will be in the daytime, when you'll be in the presence of either Mom or me"

"Clearly my father was smart to fear the big bad world of entertainment, which his teenage daughter was so naively heading into," she adds.

Priyanka also confesses in her memoir that it was because of her father's protectiveness and the one absolutely "non-negotiable line in the sand", she was spared from having some of the terrible experiences that so many young people have when they are breaking into the entertainment industry.

"While I did feel saddened and frustrated by the patriarchy and favouritism of the Bollywood system, I never felt physically threatened during my rise in it, and I attribute that to a combination of luck - bad things can do happen in broad daylight, all the time, with people close by int he next room - and my father's wisdom," read an excerpt from Priyanka's memoir 'Unfinished'.
