Priyanka Chopra asks girls to 'dream big' as she hails Kamala Harris on becoming first female US Vice-President elect

Taking to her social media handle, the international star not only extended her best wishes to Biden and Harris but also put out a motivational message for all the girls to 'dream big' as she mentioned how Harris had broken the glass ceiling to become the first female Vice President of the United States of America.

Global icon Priyanka Chopra, who was keenly following the US Presidential elections 2020, on Saturday took to her verified Instagram handle to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris on their big and historic win. 

Biden, set to become the 46th U.S. president, mounted unsuccessful bids for the presidency in 1988 and 2008. Harris, his running mate, will become the first woman, the first Black American and the first American of Asian descent to serve as vice president, the country`s No. 2 office.

Taking to her social media handle, the international star not only extended her best wishes to Biden and Harris but also put out a motivational message for all the girls to 'dream big' as she mentioned how Harris had broken the glass ceiling to become the first female Vice President of the United States of America. 

Applauding Americans for coming out to vote in large numbers and praising them for putting up a "powerful display of how a democracy should function", Priyanka said that it was 'amazing' to witness the election in the US.

Sharing a photo of a news channel declaring Joe Biden as the US President-elect, in her caption, Priyanka wrote, "America spoke in record-breaking numbers and the verdict is in... EVERY VOTE counts. I applaud everyone who voted in what was such a powerful display of how a democracy should function. It was amazing to witness this election in the US. Congrats to the President Elect @joebiden and Vice President elect @kamalaharris, the first woman VP! Dream Big girls! Earlier, Priyanka, who is currently living in Los Angeles with her husband, actor-singer Nick Jonas had shared her thoughts on US Elections and the uncertainty around the results. 

In a post on Instagram, Priyanka had written, "The uncertainty of 2020 continues. Watching the US Elections with my family in LA. Many votes still uncounted... it looks like it's going to be a long night."

Meanwhile, after the big win, Joe Biden thanked Americans for electing him, President. 

"I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect (Kamala) Harris. In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted," Biden said on Twitter.
