Poonam Pandey also urged all the victims connected to the Raj Kundra pornography case to come forward and speak up for themselves.
Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra’s arrest late on Monday night in the pornography case left Bollywood and their fans shocked. Since then there have been many startling revelations in the case. Model-actor Poonam Pandey who had filed a case against Raj and his company in 2019 has now made shocking claims about the businessman.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Poonam said that Raj had exploited her and shared her number with objectionable messages after which she got threatening texts.
“They threatened me to sign their new contract. I would have to shoot as and when they wished, however, they wanted, otherwise they would leak my private things. After I refused, my phone number was leaked on the internet with the message, “call me now, I will strip for you.” They broadcasted this message along with my personal mobile number,” Poonam said in her statement.
She further added, "I remember, after that, my phone kept ringing non-stop. I was getting calls and threatening messages from everywhere. I was not at my home at the time, I was hiding like a fugitive. I spent some months in a place name Uran at that time. I was afraid that something might happen to me because I used to get texts that read, “I know where you are”. It was scary.
Urging girls who have been a victim of wrongdoing to speak up, Poonam said, "Despite the refusal of my lawyers, I am giving this statement that if Raj Kundra can do something like this to me, who is a known personality, then imagine what must be happening with others. Its impossible to judge where is the full stop of this situation. I urge all the victims to come out and speak for themselves.”
For the unversed, Poonam Pandey had filed a case in the Bombay High Court against Raj Kundra and his associates from Armsprime Media, the firm which was handling her app. Poonam had claimed that they were illegally using content featuring her even after the termination of her contract with the company.
After Raj’s arrest said that her 'heart goes out to' his wife, actor Shilpa Shetty, and their two children. In an interview with a leading daily, Poonam reacted to the news of Raj's arrest and said, "At this moment my heart goes out to Shilpa Shetty and her kids. I can't imagine what she must be going through. So, I refuse to use this opportunity to highlight my trauma.”
“The only thing I'll add is that I have filed a police complaint in 2019 against Raj Kundra and subsequently registered a case at the honourable high court of Bombay against him for fraud and theft. This matter is sub judice, hence I would prefer to limit my statements. Also, I have full faith in our police & the judicial process," she added.
