Lalbaug Mahotsav is cancelled owing to coronavirus situation and actress Pooja Bhatt welcomed the move of setting up a blood donation camp in its place
Actress Pooja Bhatt, who is all set to make her comeback with 'Sadak 2', lauded the initiative to cancel Lalbaug Ganeshotsav this year. A blood and plasma donation camp would be held in its place instead, looking at the current COVID-19 situation around the country.
Getting to know about the initiative, Pooja lauded the cause on Twitter. "Truly commendable and must be applauded! We are what we do not what we say we will do. Wish more people could take Inspiration from this truly wise and humane step taken!," the actress tweeted, also writing 'Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha' in Marathi.

The blood and plasma donation camp would be called 'Aarogya Utsav'. The plasma donation camp is reportedly going to be held along with the help of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the biggest mandals set up during Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai. Various people from Mumbai and other cities visit the mandal to seek blessings of Lord Ganesh. Various Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut have visited the mandal over the years.
