Saif Ali Khan's movie Laal Kaptaan released in theatres today. The actor, last seen in Baazaar, has experimented with not only his looks, but also his character with Laal Kaptaan. The movie sees his journey of drama, revenge and deceit.
While Safi Ali Khan's character looked promising in the film, and he received praises for it too, the script of the film was bashed to the extent of being called 'non-existent'. Just like movie critics, most of the audiences too are disappointed with Laal Kaptaan.
One user called the movie 'too experimental' and perfect for the digital platform. Another went on to state that if the movie was 'western' and screened at The Academy, most would have their jaws dropped off. Most others were only praises for Saif's acting more than the film.

HORRENDOUS
The trailer created good intrigue with an interesting theme of a Naga Saadhu & the world of 18th century when Britishers ruled India. But it's nowhere meant for the theatre & should have been strictly done for the OTT platform. TOO EXPERIMENTAL!
Majority of the voters at the academy would have had their jaws dropped if this was a "western". But alas.

Cant praise said ali khan enough for doing such scripts. #LaalKaptaan pic.twitter.com/WAUZuN3ReS
Such films need good marketing & promotion. Didn't even know that today was its release. Saif is a very good actor & at times gives his best from his skillset. #LaalKaptaan must have been well promoted.

#Laalkaptaan is an average movie which has a good concept but ruined by its slow, repetitive and boring narrative. Few Scenes, Performances and Cinematography are Praiseworthy.#Saifalikhan gives a solid Performance @deepakdobriyal is Excellent as Well.
